Overview

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) has launched the Small Health Services Research Grant Program (R03). The primary goal of this announcement is to elicit health services research grant applications that align with AHRQ's key areas of interest. These priorities focus on enhancing the quality of healthcare and patient safety, working on improvements in healthcare delivery, fostering practice enhancement, and promoting holistic healthcare delivery.

The AHRQ welcomes research in all facets of healthcare settings. This includes hospitals, long term care facilities, ambulatory care facilities, home healthcare services, pharmacies, as well as the transitions between these various care settings. The scope of research may include a broad array of participating partners and groups.

This can range from patients and their families, to clinicians and non-clinical healthcare staff, and from policy makers to payers. Other potential participants can be healthcare organizations, providers and accreditors, as well as local and state governments. Even the Federal Government and other associated entities are welcome to participate. The AHRQ is thus casting a wide net to involve multiple stakeholders in the mission to enhance healthcare through this unique funding opportunity.
