Overview
The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) offers a Research Career Enhancement Award for Established Investigators, also referred to as a K18 program. This is specifically designed for experienced researchers who wish to develop new research skills. This grant allows these investigators to expand or refocus their existing research programs. Importantly, this program does not support clinical trials. The acquisition of these new skills should ultimately help answer questions related to various sciences such as hearing, balance, smell, taste, voice, speech and language.
