Overview

The Department of the Treasury (Treasury) has opened applications for the Social Impact Partnerships to Pay for Results Act (SIPPRA) Projects grant. This grant is designed to reward State and local governments when they meet specific goals in social impact projects, as determined by an independent evaluator. Successful applicants will receive payments that correlate to the value the federal government gains over ten years from the implemented project. These rewards may not exceed this value and the total grant money available sits at around $40.9 million.

One major point of assessment for these grants is whether a project directly benefits children. This criteria needs to be met for at least 50% of the total awarded funds. Recipients of these project grants may further qualify for an additional grant that covers 15% of the project cost for a statutorily required independent evaluation. The applicant can receive this even if they do not achieve their projected outcomes. Treasury has a separate fund of around $6.1 million set aside for these evaluation costs.
