Overview

This grant is for the clinical validation of a potential biomarker for neurological or neuromuscular disorders. The program aims to facilitate the clinical confirmation of promising candidate biomarkers for neurological conditions.

The ultimate objective of this grant program is to execute an in-depth validation of biomarker measurements within the relevant clinical population. This will determine the positive and negative predictive values of the candidate biomarker, in compliance with FDA guidelines.

This program expects that applicants have already identified a potential biomarker, developed and confirmed a detection method technology, and identified a research and/or clinical need as well as a potential context for its use. The grant is titled "Clinical Validation of a Candidate Biomarker for Neurological or Neuromuscular Disorders (U44 Clinical Trial Optional)".
