Overview

The Sustained Support for Informatics Technologies for Cancer Research and Management is a grant opportunity aimed at advancing ongoing informatics resources that enhance data handling in all sectors of cancer research. This includes fields such as cancer biology, diagnosis and treatment, early detection, risk analysis, prevention, control, epidemiology, and cancer health disparities. This grant is part of the National Cancer Institute's Informatics Technology for Cancer Research (ITCR) Program which aims at improving existing widely-used informatics tools and resources as opposed to developing new ones.

Applicants are invited to submit their Cooperative Agreement (U24) applications outlining their sustainable development plans for these resources. The application should justify why the particular resource needs to be maintained and highlight how it has benefitted and will continue to contribute to cancer research.

Additionally, it should focus on ways to determine and increase the value of the resource to researchers whilst fostering collaboration and interaction between the resource and the specific research community. This grant welcomes applications where clinical trials are optional. The ultimate goal of this funding opportunity is to continually enhance the acquisition, analysis, visualization, and interpretation of data across the cancer research spectrum.
