Overview

This document describes a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for a program titled "Mobile Health: Technology and Outcomes in Low and Middle Income Countries". The program, symbolized as R21/R33, does not require a clinical trial. The aim of this funding opportunity is to foster research initiatives that focus on the design and testing of innovative mobile health (mHealth) solutions, particularly suited to low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). These could involve the use of new technology, platforms, systems, or analytical tools.

One of the primary goals of this program is to drive innovation via wide-ranging research, focused on finding solutions to global health problems. An important part of this goal is generating substantiated evidence on how mHealth technology can positively affect clinical and public health outcomes. Furthermore, it aims to enhance the mHealth research potential in LMICs.

Applicants who are interested in this NOFO are required to propose team-ups that incorporate at least one US institution and one LMIC institution. By doing so, the program encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing between different institutions, aiming to create enhanced, efficient, and effective mHealth solutions for LMICs.
