Overview
The main goal of this funding opportunity is to encourage studies examining how lipid metabolism, directly influenced by diet, affects the growth and progression of tumors. The call for proposals is directed towards researchers who aim to delve into the molecular details of how lipid metabolism manipulates the development and progression of tumors. The study should particularly focus on the significant role of lipids, dietary fats, in the physiological and pathological processes of cancer.
In addition, the program intends to bridge the gap between two historically separate scientific fields, nutrition, and molecular metabolism, by unifying under the common topic of lipid metabolism. As a relatively new and complex area of research, lipid biochemistry poses unique challenges. Hence, promoting the development of new research methods and tools is welcomed to ensure progress in this field.
To encourage novel investigators in the field, the announcement stipulates that the preliminary data (unpublished) submitted should be limited to a single figure, occupying no more than half a page.
