Overview

The Office of Research Infrastructure Programs (ORIP) is inviting submissions for research grant applications. The focus of this particular grant, entitled "Development of Resources and Technologies for Enhancing Rigor, Reproducibility, and Translatability of Animal Models in Biomedical Research," is to support the creation of helpful technologies, tools, and resources that bolster the validity, reliability, and utility of animal models used in biomedical research.

To qualify for this grant, the proposed technologies, tools, or resources must have broad potential applications. They should either address research related to multiple National Institutes of Health (NIH) Institutes and Centers, explore numerous organ systems, or be relevant to diseases and processes that affect multiple organ systems. This qualification is vital to align with ORIP's NIH-wide mission and programs.

The proposed technologies, tools, or resources should also improve the reliability, repeatability, and applicability of animal research protocols. Applicants must clearly demonstrate how their proposed resources and technological solutions will enhance the scientific rigor and reliability of animal research. However, this funding opportunity is not suitable for applications that only plan to develop a limited quantity of resources.
