Overview

The Exploratory Grant Award seeks to promote diversity in the field of basic cancer research. As a continuation of an initiative by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), this grant aims to increase the representation of groups that have been historically underrepresented in various scientific domains such as biomedical, behavioral, clinical, and social sciences.

This funding opportunity particularly invites applications from eligible junior investigators and Early Stage Investigators from such backgrounds. Alongside diversifying the cancer research workforce, this grant also aims to provide additional support to investigators who have completed their research training. The grant offers these investigators extra time needed to develop extensive research project grant applications. Please note that this grant does not cover expenses for clinical trials.
