Overview

The Geometric Analysis program is a grant that supports research in various areas of geometry including differential geometry, global analysis, geometric Lie group theory, modern mathematical physics methods and integrals. It is also concerned with its relevance to partial differential equations and variational principles as well as other related geometric topics.

Proposals for academic events like conferences, workshops or summer/winter schools that are relevant to Geometric Analysis should be submitted through the "Conferences and Workshops in the Mathematical Sciences" program. When making submissions, Principal Investigators should pay attention to the information and instructions outlined in the program solicitation and the relevant sections of the PAPPG.

Proposals requesting for travel support for international events have additional requirements. Proposals whose budgets do not exceed $50,000 can go through an internal review process at the NSF. The submission should be made in September of the previous year for events that will take place between March and August of the following year. For events happening between September and the end of February, a proposal should be submitted in April of the preceding year.

On the other hand, proposals that request a budget exceeding $50,000 will likely require an external review process which may take more time. In this case, the submission should be made about seven months prior to the scheduled date of the event.
