Advancing Genomic Medicine Research (R03 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

The Advancing Genomic Medicine Research grant (R03 Clinical Trial Not Allowed) is inviting applications aimed at fostering innovation and deepening understanding about when, where and how to best employ the use and sharing of genomic information and technologies in a clinical setting. This includes serving all individuals, regardless of racial or ethnic background or socioeconomic status.

This R03 grant is designed to support small research projects that can be accomplished within a short timeframe and with limited resources. Some examples include pilot or feasibility studies, secondary analysis of existing data sets, small-scale, independent research projects, or the development of new research methodologies.

For those preparing an application, an in-depth collection of background material or preliminary data is not mandatory but can be provided for justification through literature references, data gathered from other resources, or, when available, data generated by the investigator themselves. Proposed work should emphasize the conceptual framework, be highly innovative, and have the potential to greatly enhance our understanding or knowledge. Even though preliminary data are not a requirement, they can be included if they are available.
