Overview

This information is about a grant offering from the Division of Chemistry. It specifies six out of the nine disciplinary research programs that it applies to, which are: Chemical Catalysis (CAT), Chemical Measurement and Imaging (CMI), Chemical Structure Dynamics and Mechanisms-B (CSDM-B), Chemical Synthesis (SYN), Environmental Chemical Sciences (ECS), and Macromolecular, Supramolecular and Nanochemistry (MSN).

All proposals targeting these six programs should follow this solicitation, except for a few exceptions. If the rules aren’t adhered to, the submission may be returned without any review. The exceptions include proposals for the Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) which must be submitted through a different link by a specified deadline.

Another exception is the facilitation of research at primarily undergraduate institutions which includes research at these institutions and Research Opportunity Awards. These mouthful of words (RUI and ROA) must be submitted through a different link during the appropriate window and also follow this solicitation’s guidelines.

Also excused from this solicitation’s submissions are proposals for early concept grants like the EAGER, RAPID, RAISE grants and conferences. These exceptions can be submitted anytime after a consultation with the responsible NSF Program Officer.

Any requests for additional funding on existing grants can also be submitted anytime after a consultation with the NSF Program Officer. Until Research.gov accommodates this feature, these requests should be prepared and submitted through FastLane.
