NCI Pathway to Independence Award for Early-Stage Postdoctoral Researchers (K99/R00 - Independent Clinical Trial Required)

The NCI Pathway to Independence Award for Early-Stage Postdoctoral Researchers (K99/R00) is a program designed to bolster the cohort of young and talented investigators supported by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Specifically designed for researchers with doctoral degrees who no longer require extended tutelage, the program aims to facilitate a smooth transition from mentored post-doctoral research roles to independent faculty positions on tenure track (or similar).

Through this program, the NCI aims to support its awardees during their transition period, helping them establish reputable and self-standing research careers. Particular encouragement is given to researchers working in the fields of cancer control, prevention, and data sciences.
