Overview
The intent of this specific funding opportunity is to endorse preliminary or feasibility research. Particularly, NIDA is interested in studying the structural elements, practices within organizations, policies and several other sociocultural and contextual factors contributing to disparities. The focus areas of these disparities revolve around HIV and substance abuse among racial or ethnic groups that are consistently affected by HIV.
NIDA encourages studies that comprehensively examine the multiple aspects of a person's identity such as race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and gender identity. It also strongly recommends including an exploration of how these facets intersect with one another within social systems.
