Overview
This grant aims to stimulate new research, both observational and intervention-based, on a variety of factors that lead to imbalances in the fight against HIV and substance abuse within disadvantaged racial and ethnic communities. These factors may include, but are not limited to, structural influences, organizational practices, policies, and other social, cultural, and contextual elements.
This research grant welcomes studies that consider the various aspects of individual identity such as race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and gender identity. It further promotes research that examines how these elements of identity intersect with social systems. Note also, that applying for this program doesn't necessitate the inclusion of a clinical trial.
