Overview

This grant, named "Unveiling Health and Healthcare Disparities in Non-Communicable and Chronic Diseases in Latin America: Setting the Stage for Better Health Outcomes Across the Hemisphere (R01 - Clinical Trials Not Allowed)", is offering support for innovative research related to health care disparities in non-communicable and chronic diseases in Latin America and among Hispanics/Latinos in the U.S. The aim of this grant is to highlight and address the diseases which have the highest impact on mortality and disease burden in these areas.

The research, which can't include clinical trials, should focus on clinical epidemiology, public health policies, health care policies, and the validation of measures taken to address these disparities. Multidisciplinary research teams applying for this grant are expected to collaborate meaningfully with key partners. One of these key partners must be a Principal Investigator (PI) or Multiple Principal Investigators (MPI) from institutions located in Latin America. Cooperation, innovation, and a multidisciplinary approach are highly encouraged in this research opportunity.
