Overview

The National Institute of General Medical Sciences offers a Predoctoral Basic Biomedical Sciences Research Training Program, also known as a T32 Grant. The objective of this grant is to build a diverse group of highly-skilled scientists who can contribute to the biomedical research demands of the United States.

The grant provides financial assistance to qualifying U.S. institutions. The goal is to help these institutions create and execute efficient, scientifically-supported methods of graduate-level biomedical training and mentoring. This approach is meant to align with the quick advancements and changes occurring in the biomedical research field.

NIGMS hopes that the devised research training programs will provide a blend of practical, theoretical, and career development training. The ultimate aim of these programs will be to equip trainees with the necessary skills and knowledge required to make meaningful contributions to the nation's health-related research endeavours.
