Overview

This grant, titled "Developing Novel Theory and Methods for Understanding the Genetic Architecture of Complex Human Traits (R21 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)", aims to support projects that develop innovative theoretical frameworks and methods. These approaches should shed new light on our understanding of how both genetic and non-genetic factors influence variations in complex human traits across diverse groups such as individuals, families and larger populations.

The approach to be taken should be original and cut-across various scientific disciplines, both social and natural, and must take into account the interdependencies across various scales of organization - biological, social and ecological. Such approaches should utilize theory and simulations extensively, and verify their findings and assumptions using existing large-scale datasets. It's important to note that clinical trials will not be allowed under this grant program.
