Overview

This information pertains to a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) that supports applications for a Data Coordinating Center (DCC) in multi-site Investigator-Initiated Clinical Trials. The clinical trials in question may include those testing various therapeutic, behavioral, or prevention strategies aligning with the research mission of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and meeting the National Institutes of Health (NIH) definition of a clinical trial.

The purpose of the DCC is to ensure coordination, data management, and biostatistical support for the clinical trials, all of which are crucial for the overall success of the trial proposed in the collaborative Clinical Coordinating Center (CCC) application.

Applicants are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the mission, vision, and research priorities of the NHLBI to ensure their studies align. To receive this grant, applicants must submit both a DCC and a CCC application simultaneously for NHLBI's consideration.

The FOA utilizes a cooperative agreement mechanism of award and is linked with a parallel FOA encouraging the applications for a CCC.
