Overview
The National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) is inviting R21 grant applications for research projects focused on promoting health and advancing health equity. These projects should be exploratory or developmental in nature and align with the research framework detailed in the NINR’s Strategic Plan for 2022-2026. The proposed research should employ a holistic, contextualized understanding of people and their health, that is characteristic of the nursing approach. It should respond to the most urgent and enduring health challenges faced by the nation, and aim to provide solutions. Moreover, it needs to use innovative and rigorous study designs to generate knowledge that can inform practice and policy-making. Clinical trials are optional for this particular grant.
