Overview

The Javits Neuroscience Investigator Award is given by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS). This award, officially known as R37, offers extensive financial support to brilliant researchers showcasing extraordinary performance and impressive productivity in their work. The primary goal of the NINDS Javits Award is to allow awarded individuals a substantial funding up to seven years, which is given in two segments. Initially, a progressive phase of up to four years is granted, followed by an additional supportive phase boosting the award for another three years.

The current announcement relates specifically to NINDS Javits award recipients who are already funded, as this is an exclusive opportunity for them to apply for the second phase of the R37 award. To clarify, it should be noted that this announcement isn't open for shared interests and the Type 4 extension request specifically pertains to NS R37 applications. Consequently, all eligible investigators are encouraged to apply independently, following a systematic approach to complete their submission. The optional inclusion of a Type 4 Clinical Trial is also made possible with this funding opportunity.
