Overview
The aim of this fellowship is to boost the conjoined research and clinical training of these selected predoctoral students. These students must present a joined research and clinical training plan and also a dissertation research project in scientific health-related fields that are relevant to the missions of the participating NIH Institutes and Centers.
The experience from this fellowship will enhance the students' potential to become more productive and independent as a physician or clinician-scientist. This funding opportunity does not permit the students to lead an independent clinical trial, a clinical trial feasibility study, or an ancillary clinical trial. However, it does allow the students to propose a research experience in a clinical trial that is directed by a sponsor or co-sponsor.
