Overview
The grant, titled "Engaging Survivors of Sexual Violence and Trafficking in HIV and Substance Use Disorder Services" is designed to support research and develop preliminary initiatives targeted at addressing the interconnected and exacerbating factors that contribute to substance abuse and HIV risk among survivors of sexual trafficking. This includes creating new strategies and care models that effectively involve these survivors in services for substance use disorders, HIV, trauma, and other mental health outcomes. The grant also aims to address the major structural and social health determinants that heighten the risk for sexual trafficking, as well as the obstacles that impede and aids that facilitate their escape from continued exploitation. Note that conducting a R34 Clinical Trial is optional in this program.
