Overview
Recipients of the P30 grant are expected to significantly advance knowledge in their field of study rather than simply adding to pre-existing knowledge. In essence, the funded Center should not concentrate on minor work but instead should encourage new, innovative research avenues.
A successful application for this grant program must demonstrate a clear integration plan with existing funded projects, promoting the creation of new and inventive research directions. Significantly, all core activities of the Center must visibly reflect and contribute to the overarching theme of the Center.
Moreover, the funded research Center has another crucial responsibility: providing research opportunities to budding investigators. The Center should assist in the career growth of new investigators and also contribute to the broader scientific community. This can be achieved through the sharing of research findings, accumulated data, and any other resources that can contribute to achieving the program's goals.
