Overview

This funding opportunity announcement is inviting applications for research into the biology of bladder cancer, an area of significant health concern in the United States and worldwide due to its high incidence and frequent recurrences. Despite recent advancements in identifying mutated genes and profiling bladder cancers at the molecular level, our understanding of the mechanisms that initiate and drive the progression and malignancy of bladder cancer is lacking. The same applies to our grasp of the biological processes of a healthy bladder at the molecular, cellular, and organ levels. A deeper comprehension of how bladder cancer affects the organ's molecular and cellular functions will contribute significantly to the study of bladder cancer biology and the development of effective interventions. Nominations from multidisciplinary teams or ones involving the investigation of both normal and cancerous processes are strongly encouraged, particularly when clinical specimens are used.
