Notice of Intent to Publish a Funding Opportunity Announcement for Data Management and Coordinating Center (DMCC) for Rare Diseases Clinical Research Network (RDCRN) (U2C Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) is preparing to advertise a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) aimed at improving the diagnosis, management, and treatment of rare diseases. The FOA is anticipated to be published in 2024, with applicants possibly receiving funding by 2025. This announcement is provided in advance to allow potential candidates sufficient time to create cooperative projects and partnerships.

The grant is linked to the Rare Diseases Clinical Research Network (RDCRN), which is made up of the Rare Diseases Clinical Research Consortia (RDCRC) and the Data Management and Coordinating Center (DMCC). The RDCRC is committed to collaborative, multi-site, patient-focused, translational, and clinical research. On the other hand, DMCC is responsible for facilitating and supporting both individual RDCRC activities and trans-network activities that aid in advancing rare disease research.

The funding will utilize the U2C activity code, a special designation supporting specific centers through multi-project cooperative agreement awards while overseeing considerable involvement from NIH program staff.
