Overview

The BRAIN Initiative: Integration and Analysis of BRAIN Initiative Data (R01 Clinical Trial Not Allowed) is a reissued grant initiative that complies with DMSP, originally identified as RFA-MH-22-220. Its primary focus is supporting the creation of software that allows for the visualization and analysis of data derived from the BRAIN Initiative. This is achieved through a series of specific informatics programs.

One such program within this initiative is tasked with the development of essential data standards. These standards are used for outlining new experiments conducted or utilized within the BRAIN Initiative, as per RFA-MH-19-146.

Another important program within this initiative works on creating data infrastructure that facilitates data storage from multiple experimental groups participating in the initiative, under RFA-MH-19-145.

It should be noted that these programs are strategically designed to cater to distinct subdomains of experimentalists. This is done instead of creating a single, overarching informatics infrastructure. This approach guarantees immediate utility and relevance to various components of the broader research community.

While each program concentrates on its specific domain, the long-term objective is to possibly create connections between the different subdomains. This goal of cultivating potential future linkages should be kept in mind by the researchers involved in these informatics programs. Even though the present focus might seem limited in scope, it is nonetheless designed with the future in mind, paving the way for more integrated brain research.
