Overview

The National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program has announced a multi-year grant opportunity from 2020 to 2024, with an emphasis on NASA Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) opportunities. The grant is in support of NASA's mission and educational priorities, various STEM goals, collaborations with Mission Directorates, and addressing state-based needs.

The grant will specifically be open to all Space Grant Consortia members, who will be collaborating with the Office of STEM Engagement to achieve key objectives. These include contributing to NASA's work, promoting a diverse and skilled future workforce and enhancing the understanding of STEM through strong connections to NASA.

A core focus of the program is to provide students with opportunities to interact with NASA's aeronautics, space, and science personnel, content, and facilities. This is aimed at developing a diverse future workforce for NASA and the wider aerospace industry. In addition, there will be opportunities for students to contribute meaningfully to NASA's aeronautics, space, and science missions through collaborations with Mission Directorates.

To be considered for the grant, institutions must submit a proposal, which includes information on potential prime awards and partners, whether they are educational institutions or other organizations that serve as sub-awardees or contractors. All institutions must register in NSPIRES and proposals must be submitted electronically by an authorized official from the organization. Principal investigators and other participants must also be registered in NSPIRES.

It's advised that potential proposers familiarize themselves with the NSPIRES system well ahead of the proposal due date and input the required information. Electronic proposals can be submitted via the NASA proposal data system, NSPIRES.

Additional information for this grant may develop before the proposal due date; any updates will be posted as FAQs or formal amendments on http://nspires.nasaprs.com. It's the responsibility of those proposing to regularly check NSPIRES for updates.
