Overview

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) encourages researchers to investigate the effectiveness of implementing sustainable, evidence-based mental health practices in low-resource environments, with a focus on achieving mental health equity for traditionally underserved populations. It supports studies that aim to develop and test strategies for delivering these treatments and services in such underfunded settings within the United States in a sustainable manner, with a view to improve mental health results for these underserved populations.

The FOA encourages the use of innovative methods to overcome the barriers to providing, receiving, and benefiting from evidence-based practices (EBPs). Additionally, it promotes the generation of new insights into the key factors required to achieve equity in mental health outcomes for these population segments.

This includes, but is not limited to, encouraging research that sheds new light on the reasons behind the disparities in mental healthcare, and ways to address them, factoring in the specific needs of individuals across different life stages. The option for conducting a clinical trial is available but not mandatory in this grant.
