Overview

The Measurement Science and Engineering (MSE) Research Grant Programs spearheaded by NIST is focused on fostering innovation and industrial competitiveness. This is achieved through the advancement of measurement science and standards. Central to this mission is the establishment of a diverse and inclusive culture that embraces diversity, equity, and accessibility.

Crucially, NIST seeks to cultivate a diverse and top-tier community of scientists and engineers capable of contributing to NIST's research in measurement science and standards. Not only that, but the program also aims to educate the general public, ensuring they comprehend and value the importance of measurement science and standards.

Furthermore, NIST is committed to partnering with a broad spectrum of organizations to achieve its objectives. This collaboration includes not only Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) but also community colleges and other minority-serving institutions. These relationships are geared towards buttressing NIST's mission.
