Overview

This grant relates to schizophrenia and associated disorders that occur during mid to late adulthood (R01 Clinical Trial Optional). Despite the fact that most individuals diagnosed with these disorders are over the age of 35, including both newly diagnosed and those aging with the disease, our understanding of the causes and progression of these illnesses remains limited. The objective of this grant is to further translational research in an effort to gain a clearer comprehension of how schizophrenia and related disorders develop and evolve in mid to late adulthood. The ultimate goal of this initiative is to identify potential areas of focus for the future development of preventative measures and treatments.
