Overview

This grant focuses on schizophrenia and related disorders that occur during mid to late life stages (participants can opt for clinical trials if desired). It's important to note that most individuals living with schizophrenia and related disorders are aged over 35 years. This includes both those newly diagnosed and those who've been living with the illness for some time. However, the underlying causes and progression of this illness are still not clearly understood. The aim of this initiative is to boost research that could help in understanding the emergence and progression of schizophrenia and related disorders in the middle to later years of life. In addition, this research hopes to identify areas to concentrate future prevention and treatment efforts.
