Overview

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) presents a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) that aims to support top-notch research projects regarding cancer communication within the evolving information ecosystem. The grant, titled "Innovative Approaches to Studying Cancer Communication in the New Information Ecosystem" (R01 Clinical Trial Optional), prioritizes three main research domains.

Firstly, it supports the use and application of novel cancer communication surveillance methods. Secondly, it fosters rapid development and testing of cancer communication interventions with the help of cutting-edge designs and methodologies. Lastly, it pushes for the creation and evaluation of multilevel cancer communication models that focus on the back-and-forth influence between different levels.

In order to be eligible for this grant, applicants are expected to merge communication science mechanisms into their investigation of behavior targets along with health outcomes, especially those relating to cancer prevention and control. The use of one or more inventive communication research methodologies is particularly encouraged in the applications.
