Overview
The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is announcing a funding opportunity regarding a program titled Precision Approaches in Radiation Synthetic Combinations, also known as PAIRS. This program doesn't necessarily require a clinical trial (R21 Clinical Trial Optional). The NCI is looking to fund R01 research projects that focus on studying possible synthetic vulnerabilities which can be potentially linked with tumor responses to radiation therapy. The ultimate objective of this PAIRS program is to come up with new technique of combining radiation with synthetic elements. These strategies can then be incorporated into the precision medicine toolkit, with the aim of creating new and impactful treatments for cancer.
