Overview

The National Institute on Aging (NIA) is welcoming investigator-initiated research program project (P01) applications that are in line with the NIA's mission. The stipulated conditions for the applications under the Program Project Applications (P01 Clinical Trial Optional) include having at least three related research projects that are governed by a single central theme, focus, and overall objective. There should also be an administrative core to lead the project.

If you are interested in revising an existing project or proposing a new one within the context of an existing P01 award, such revision applications are welcomed. However, these revisions cannot extend beyond the existing end date of the parent P01 award. But it's permissible to propose an expansion of existing cores, or propose the creation of new cores to support the expansion or the establishment of new projects under the grant.
