Overview

The Advanced Laboratories for Accelerating the Reach and Impact of Treatments for Youth and Adults with Mental Illness (ALACRITY) Research Centers are calling for grant applications. These centers are designed to boost the effectiveness of treatments for mental disorders. The ultimate goal is to transform mental health care in the United States, by improving all components of the mental health ecosystem.

Furthermore, the centers are also meant to support high-impact studies that will significantly enhance clinical practice. This includes finding new methods to optimize therapies and preventive measures for mental health disorders, make improvements in service delivery within real world settings, and improve the quality and durability of optimized treatments.

The initiative invites transdisciplinary teams to apply. These can include clinical and mental health services researchers, behavioral scientists, social scientists, health information and communications technologists, health systems engineers, decision scientists, and mental health stakeholders. Stakeholders can include service users, family members, clinicians, and payers.

The program also encourages research that works collaboratively with new clinical discoveries, transformative health care technologies, advances in information science, and new federal and state mechanisms for organizing mental health care. In essence, this program strives to foster change and progress in the mental health sector.

By enhancing these different components, the initiative aims to create a more efficient and effective mental health care system.
