Overview
This may include research into how behaviour changes, the optimal dosage and timing for treatments, as well as exploring the most effective sequence of combined behavioral and pharmacological treatments. Additionally, the treatments can be designed for patients who may also have other health conditions along with drug abuse.
The program also extends its focus to three other areas: interventions that ensure adherence to drug abuse treatment, use of technology in interventions to enhance their impact and longevity, and preventing the spread or contraction of HIV among individuals undergoing drug abuse treatment.
Moreover, funding could be allocated to researching ways to promote adherence to treatment for drug abuse, HIV, and addiction medication. Other focus areas could include interventions to address substance misuse and the treatment of chronic pain.
The program is interested in all stages of research, but particularly in Stage I research. They aim to gather all necessary information to improve treatment interventions for drug abuse and related health issues.
