Overview
The funding opportunity can be used to support a wide array of HIV research areas, such as prevention, treatment, care, and quality of life. This includes different disciplines like basic sciences, epidemiology, clinical, behavioral and social sciences, community-based, implementation, operations, health services, and health systems research. The proposal can also cover cross-disciplinary research and studies regarding HIV comorbidities and coinfections that affect the HIV epidemic.
Applicants are encouraged to design their proposed training programs to bolster research capacities in specific high-priority HIV scientific domains that align with NIH HIV/AIDS research priorities (NOT-OD-20-018). These initiatives should be based in selected LMIC institutions and partnered with collaborating LMIC institutions.
