Overview

The National Cooperative Drug/Device Discovery/Development Groups (NCDDG) is offering a grant for the treatment of mental disorders or alcohol use disorder. This grant has been reissued from PAR-20-119 and encourages applications that promote the discovery and development of new treatment approaches. These include testing new candidate agents, neurostimulation methods, and the development of ligand tools and circuit-engagement devices. The aim is to treat mental disorders, substance use disorders, and alcohol use disorders by further characterising current drug/device targets or validating new ones.

This grant strongly encourages partnerships between academic and industrial entities to carry out the research. It supports a research program composed of multiple projects that are focused towards a specific major objective or goal. This could involve long-term, multidisciplinary approaches or themes that are broad-based. However, projects that are requesting funding for a specific, defined project to be carried out by a designated investigator in their specific field of interest and competence should look into the companion U01 grant. This grant provides opportunities to entities that play a crucial role in advancing and pioneering innovations in mental and behavioral health treatments.
