Overview

The National Institute of Health (NIH) has announced a funding opportunity with the title: Dissemination and Implementation Research in Health (R01 Clinical Trial Optional). The main goal of this grant is to provide financial support for research studies that focus on identifying, developing, and testing strategies that can help overcome obstacles to the successful implementation and longevity of evidence-based healthcare interventions, practices, programs, tools, treatments, guidelines, and policies.

This funding will support studies that aim to bridge gaps and break down barriers preventing the implementation of healthcare interventions, especially in underrepresented communities. Equal dissemination and integration of effective healthcare practices in these areas are encouraged.

Moreover, it's also crucial to take note of circumstances that necessitate a decrease or complete stoppage of certain healthcare practices that have proven ineffective, unproven, low-value, or are harmful. As such, research into these areas is also encouraged.

Furthermore, NIH is also keen on promoting research to improve the methodologies and measures used in dissemination and implementation research. This also falls under the scope of this funding opportunity.

All submitted applications need to be aligned with the mission of one of the Institutes or Centers listed in the grant announcement. This ensures that the proposed projects are relevant and contribute towards the Institute's specific objectives and goals. This funding opportunity encourages innovative projects, facilitating both the expansion of effective practices and the reduction of ineffective ones. Such research can have a significant impact on the health and well-being of various communities.
