Overview
This is a grant offered by the NEI (National Eye Institute) for clinical trials that are in their early stages (Phase I or II) and are associated with more than minimal risk. This type of funding is disbursed through a U01 cooperative agreement award. The investigations initiated by these trials primarily aim to test interventions associated with vision disorders. These interventions are expected to be focused on screening, diagnosing, prevention or treatment. Given the higher risk level of such trials, there is a strict requirement for performance oversight and safety monitoring throughout the trials' duration.
