Overview
The National Cancer Institute (NCI) presents a funding opportunity for the development of new research programs coined as Cancer Epidemiology Cohorts. This initiative is designed with a focus on cancer etiology and survivorship, aiming to fill critical gaps in these fields. The funding will contribute to the essential methodological work needed to start and nurture these cohorts. A point of special interest lies in testing and understanding new or unique exposures and their relationship with cancer risks and outcomes. Moreover, the program seeks to ensure the inclusivity of diverse and understudied populations, such as different racial/ethnic groups, those living in rural areas, and persistently impoverished communities. Community engagement is deemed necessary for the success of this initiative. Notably, this funding opportunity does not support clinical trials.
