Overview

The NIDCR Dentist Scientist Career Transition Award for Intramural Investigators (K22), which does not permit clinical trials, is aimed at giving highly skilled dentists participating in NIH Intramural postdoctoral fellowship programs the chance to transition. Initially, these dentists are under mentorship, conducting research within the NIH Intramural program. The goal of the award is to enable them to transfer to external institutions where they can begin their roles as new investigators, equipped with independent research funding.
