Overview

The Brain Initiative is reissuing its funding opportunity announcement (RFA-MH-20-128) that excludes clinical trials (R01). The purpose of this new funding opportunity is to invite applications for developing standards that explain the experimental protocols used within the Brain Initiative.

We encourage applicants to engage the wider community at each phase of the process to ensure the best results. To start the standard development process, data should be shared among critical groups involved in these experiments. This will ensure the newly generated standard takes into account data collection methods from all stakeholder groups.

Once developed, the new standard should be made broadly accessible to everyone involved. The ultimate goal is to ensure experimentation in the Brain Initiative is more transparent, collaborative, and inclusive.
