Overview

This grant, under the banner of the Cancer Tissue Engineering Collaborative program, offers funding support aimed at advancing the creation and characterization of the most current biomimetic tissue-engineered technologies used in cancer research. It emphasizes the significance of collaborative projects that bring together a range of fields, including regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, bioengineering, and biomaterials alongside cancer biology. The goal is to create innovative experimental models that replicate cancer's real-life conditions and allow for testable research hypotheses.

All projects developed under this grant will contribute to the larger goals of the Cancer Tissue Engineering Collaborative Research Program. This initiative has three primary objectives. Firstly, it aims to drive progress in the development of unique, well-developed in vitro (within a glass or test tube) and ex vivo (outside of the living body) systems for research in cancer. Secondly, it seeks to broaden the scope of these systems to include a variety of cancer types for study. Lastly, the program encourages the use of biomimetic, tissue-engineered systems to explore different aspects of cancer.
