NCI Transition Career Development Award to Promote Diversity (K22 Clinical Trial Required)

The NCI Transition Career Development Award to Promote Diversity is a grant focused on assisting postdoctoral fellows or people in equivalent roles. The aim is to help these individuals advance to roles such as assistant professor or equivalent and launch a successful career as an independent research scientist in the biomedical field. This initiative is managed by the Diversity Training Branch (DTB) within the Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD). The DTB encourages applications from researchers in postdoctoral or equivalent positions who originate from diverse backgrounds that are underrepresented in the biomedical, behavioral, clinical, and/or social sciences sectors on a national level. The award includes salary and research support for a period of three years, starting when the recipient lands a tenure-track faculty position. This grant offers "protected time," allowing the recipient to focus primarily on their research. A clinical trial is required as part of the grant's obligations.
