Overview
The AIDS-Science Track Award for Research Transition (A-START) offers a funding opportunity for new and early-stage investigators who are venturing into research areas concerning drug use, drug use disorders, and HIV/AIDS. This initiative aims to promote smaller, streamlined research projects (R03) focused on these topics, suitable for short-term execution with constrained resources. The A-START program appreciates applications that merge research on substance usage, substance use disorders, and HIV/AIDS acoss all sectors endorsed by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). Furthermore, it should be noted that conducting a clinical trial under this grant program is optional.
