Overview
This particular funding opportunity, which does not permit independent clinical trials, continues to provide both salary and research support. It offers a period of protected time for intensive research career development. This time is arranged under the supervision of an experienced mentor.
The grant is suitable for those who are not proposing research that involves leading any sort of independent clinical trial, a feasibility study for a clinical trial, or an ancillary study for a clinical trial. However, applicants are allowed to propose research experience that is part of a clinical trial led by a mentor or co-mentor.
If the applicant wishes to lead a clinical trial or ancillary study in an ongoing clinical trial, they should apply to the companion Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) instead of this one.
