Overview
This initiative will take the form of a UG3/UH3 phased cooperative agreement. In the first phase (UG3), successful applicants will receive support for up to two years to carry out their project's planning tasks. These include scientific and operational endeavors such as small-scale data collection, feasibility and acceptability assessment of the proposed study, developing the final clinical protocol, formulating relevant manuals, designing data management systems and building other necessary infrastructures.
Crucially, progress in this planning phase depends upon meeting strict scientific objectives and proving the venture's feasibility. Upon successful completion of these milestones, the project can then proceed to the second phase (UH3) where the planned clinical trials will be executed. This phase may last up to five years, during which the research team will conduct an array of investigations, from early mechanistic research to implementation and cost-effectiveness scrutiny.
To apply for this funding opportunity, interested parties must submit a UG3/UH3 application. This document must meet all guidelines outlined in the Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA). Note that only projects which have met the requirements of the UG3 phase will be eligible to proceed to the UH3 phase.
