Overview
The NIDA Research Education Program for Clinical Researchers and Clinicians (R25) is a program offered by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that is not intended for clinical trials. The purpose of the R25 program is to further research education in the fields that fall under the NIH's mission objectives. One of the key objectives of the NIDA R25 program is to provide support for educational activities that supplement or enrich the professional training of a team capable of meeting the nation's requirements for biomedical, behavioral, and clinical research. The program is specifically designed to boost knowledge of substance use and research into substance use disorders. The R25 program targets those pursuing careers in clinical focus areas and/or those training to become clinicians/health service providers, clinical researchers, or ideally, a mix of both. However, this scheme does not cater to clinical training not linked to research.
